No, it doesn’t matter in what order the Legislation Exam or Units of Competency are done.
Yes this course is in preparation for either the Quarry Manager or Restricted Quarry Manager. There is no difference in the preparation for the legislation exam.
However, it’s worth noting the Units of Competency differ.
Quarry Manager requires: RIIRIS501E, RIIRIS402E and BSBWHS411 + Passing the DEMIRS Legislation Exam
Restricted Quarry Manager (Explosives) or (Non-explosives) requires: RIIRIS402E and BSBWHS411 + Passing the DEMIRS Legislation Exam + Passing the DEMIRS Mining Practice Exam
We provide courses for all these requirements and they can be done at any time and in any order.
Yes, we do every single DEMIRS Exam preparation course and Unit of Competency for WA!
We specialise in assisting entire operations and companies transition their entire statutory workforce through these exams. Our pass rates and completion rates are industry leading and we are happy to take you through our transparent and systematic approach. Reach out to us here.
Yes, we sure do.
For the Quarry Manager Certificate you will need your RIIRIS501E, RIIRIS402E and BSBWHS411, we provide all of these as a combined package contextualised for Western Australian mining and legislation. These can be booked here.
For the Restricted Quarry Manager Certificate (Explosives) or (Non-explosives) you will need your RIIRIS402E and BSBWHS411, we provide all of these as a combined package contextualised for Western Australian mining and legislation. These can be booked here.
We recommend booking an exam date at least 4 weeks from the Exam Preparation Course workshop date that you book with us so you can prepare in time. Bookings are through the DEMIRS MSPP website and you can book your DEMIRS exam date here.
If you need help with this, we run through it in the workshop and can assist with exam bookings at any time throughout the course.
The Quarry Manager Mining Practice exam is required when getting your Restricted Quarry Manager certificate (Explosives) or (Non-explosives) but not for the full Quarry Manager certificate those transitioning from current full Quarry Manager certificate. It’s an exam where you need to type answers to practical questions on Mining Practices and your answers need to be aligned with the Western Australian WHS Act and Regs.
We absolutely provide this. We hold this one as a 3 week self paced course following a live online workshop with us. We will get you completely up to speed to pass this one first go. You can book together with the QM Exam Preparation Course as an additional module during the signup process; or you can book it individually here.
Yes, the WA QM ticket has mutual recognition with NSW.
For Restricted Quarry Manager certificates, any conditions applied for WA will be applied for NSW.
E.g. For a Restricted Quarry manager’s certificate of competency (M,C,O) – if there’s a WA condition where explosives are not in use or a quarry where 24 persons or fewer are employed where explosives are in use, then NSW will apply the same condition as stated on the WA certificate.
To do this or see more details, see the NSW site for Mutual Recognition
To get your WA Quarry Manager certificate, you will need to complete the Unit of Competency courses and your DEMIRS Law Exam. The Unit of Competency courses (RIIRIS501E, RIIRIS402E and BSBWHS411) involve completing course work and submitting assessments. The Exam Preparation Course found on this page is a self-paced course beginning with a one day workshop that will take you through all the knowledge and tactics to pass the challenging legislation exam first go.
To get your Restricted Quarry Manager certificate (Explosives) or (Non-explosives) certificate, you will need to complete the Unit of Competency courses, your DEMIRS Mining Practice Exam and your DEMIRS Legislation Exam. The Unit of Competency courses (RIIRIS402E and BSBWHS411) involve completing course work and submitting assessments. The Exam Preparation Course found on this page is a self-paced course beginning with a one day workshop that will take you through all the knowledge and tactics to pass the challenging legislation exam first go. The Mining Practice Exam is where you need to type answers to practical questions on Mining Practices and your answers need to be aligned with the Western Australian WHS Act and Regs.
If you’re transitioning your old QM ticket across then you will still need to complete your RIIRIS501E, RIIRIS402E and BSBWHS411 + Pass the DEMIRS Legislation Exam.
You can do these in any order.
In the course we will cover and provide physical copies of the following:
If you need multiple certificates (E.g. primarily the Quarry Manager certificate and also requiring the Statutory Supervisor certificate) then we can provide those extra certificates as additional modules. We remove all overlap and we heavily discount them approx. 90% off for each additional certificate.
We believe it’s always key to get statutory certificates as soon as possible as they’re always getting harder and the requirements will always continue to grow. This is an amazing opportunity to knock them all over in one hit.
To book extra modules, simply select the extra modules when signing up to your Primary Course. Please see the below configuration as some management level courses may need to be booked primarily rather than be added as modules.
